Desktop for Mac
Pantheon Desktop won’t open or update
Find what you’re seeing below and follow the steps. If the app won’t open, you can download a fresh copy from your workspace.
Install a fresh copy
Use a browser to get the latest Pantheon Desktop, even if the app won’t open. Your workspace needs Desktop access. The current download supports Apple silicon Macs.
- If Pantheon is running, stop any recording, then choose Quit from its menu bar icon.
- Go to your workspace download page with the button below. Sign in if asked, choose your workspace if needed, then click Download for Mac.
- Open the downloaded disk image and drag Pantheon into Applications. Choose Replace if macOS asks.
- Open Pantheon from Applications.
The window disappeared
Closing the window can leave Pantheon running in the menu bar. Click the Pantheon icon at the top of your Mac screen, then choose Open Pantheon.
To fully restart, choose Stop recording first if you’re recording. Then choose Quit from the same menu and open Pantheon from Applications.
Pantheon won’t start at all
Check the menu bar first. Pantheon may already be running with its window hidden. If there’s no Pantheon icon, follow the fresh copy steps above. You don’t need to open the old app first.
“Something broke” appears
Click Reload once. If the same error returns, quit Pantheon from the menu bar and reopen it. If it still appears, follow the fresh copy steps above.
A sign-in or workspace access message appears
For Your session expired, click Sign in again. For Desktop access required for this workspace, ask your workspace administrator to grant Desktop access, then click Check again. Installing a fresh copy won’t change workspace access.
An update won’t appear or finish
Sign in, then choose Check for Updates… from the Pantheon menu bar icon. You can also find it in the Pantheon menu at the top left when a Pantheon window is in front. Reload only reloads the window; it doesn’t check for app updates.
- Update required says it’s downloading: keep Pantheon open while it finishes.
- Update couldn’t install: click Download update.
- Download or restart stays stuck: follow the fresh copy steps above.
Pantheon asks to move to Applications
Click Move to Applications. Pantheon will reopen from Applications. It can’t update itself while running from a read-only location, such as the downloaded disk image.
“Updates need an administrator” appears
Pantheon doesn’t have permission to replace itself on this Mac. Ask someone with an administrator account on this Mac, or your IT team, to install a fresh copy for you.
Still stuck?
Email support@pantheon.run with the exact message you see, a screenshot if possible, and your macOS version (Apple menu → About This Mac). If Pantheon opens, include its version too. If you can’t reach the download page, ask your workspace administrator to check your Desktop access.
