New-surplus Caterpillar CG260-16 natural-gas generator set available through Pantheon — the 16-cylinder member of the CG260 line that Caterpillar took over with MWM. It is rated 4,300 kWe at 50 Hz (1,000 rpm) and 4,000 kWe at 60 Hz (900 rpm), at 44.1% and 43.8% electrical efficiency. The upgraded CG260-16 raises that to 4,500 and 4,050 kWe at 44.6% and 44.3%, with total efficiency of 87.8% when the heat is recovered. A biogas build is rated 3,770 and 3,510 kWe. The engine accepts up to 25% hydrogen and is rated at 500 mg/Nm³ NOx; Cat’s brochure rates it at 11 kV. The 12-cylinder CG260-12 covers 3,000–3,333 kWe.
