New Caterpillar G20CM34 natural-gas generator set available through Pantheon, built by Caterpillar Motoren in Kiel. Its 20-cylinder, four-stroke engine (340 mm bore, 420 mm stroke) delivers 10,300 kWe at 50 Hz and 9,830 kWe at 60 Hz, at up to 48.9% efficiency, turning 750 or 720 rpm. It is a stationary power-plant engine: about 164 t dry, 14.3 m long, and delivered ready to install on its base frame. It reaches synchronization in 80 seconds from a preheated standby, ramps to full load in about 100 seconds, is black-start capable, and supports island operation in six load steps. Engine-out NOx is 500 mg/Nm³ at 5% O₂; SCR and oxidation catalysts are options for tighter permits. Generator voltages run from 3 kV to 13.8 kV. Its smaller sibling, the G16CM34, is rated up to 6,580 kWe. Cat now lists the CM34 gas line as non-current. Exact rating and configuration confirmed at quote.
