TL;DR

Own product work across our mobile and desktop clients. Build the iOS experience in React Native, handle native Swift integrations when needed, and help bring the desktop application to Windows with the quality people expect from a daily-use tool.

Why this role exists

Pantheon should feel dependable wherever people do their work. Our mobile client is built with Expo and React Native, with native Swift work where the platform requires it. Our desktop client is built with Electron, and bringing it to Windows is part of the next stage. Both need an engineer who cares about the whole experience: everyday interaction, platform behavior, releases, and recovery when something goes wrong.

This is a hands-on role for someone who likes client applications and is willing to cross the boundary between shared product code and platform-specific work. You will help define what a good mobile and Windows experience looks like, then build it with the rest of the engineering team.

What you will own

  • Mobile product delivery. Build and refine flows in the React Native client, with attention to navigation, responsiveness, offline behavior, and the details that make a daily-use app feel trustworthy.
  • Native iOS work. Use Swift where native capabilities or integrations need it, keeping the boundary with shared application code clear and maintainable.
  • Windows desktop work. Help adapt and ship the Electron application for Windows, including platform-specific behavior, packaging, installation, updates, and recovery.
  • Cross-client quality. Work with product and infrastructure engineers on contracts, tests, release readiness, and bugs that cross the app and service boundary.
  • Customer feedback. Reproduce issues from real use, explain the root cause clearly, and turn recurring friction into better client behavior.

How you will work with the team

You will be a builder on a small engineering team. The Technical Product Manager will own customer discovery and product priorities with the founder; you will bring platform judgment to scope and implementation. The Senior Product Engineer will help with shared product and technical decisions. The Infrastructure & Release Engineer owns the delivery-safety systems; you will work together on client packaging, verification, and release quality.

We do not expect one platform's code to be copied blindly into another. The goal is consistent product behavior with the right native choices for each device.

What we are looking for

  • You have shipped and maintained a mobile or desktop application people rely on, beyond a prototype.
  • You are strong in TypeScript and comfortable in React Native or Electron.
  • You can work in Swift when an iOS capability requires native code, or have a strong record of learning and shipping across native boundaries.
  • You understand the practical work behind installers, updates, permissions, crash recovery, and platform-specific support.
  • You investigate defects patiently and communicate clearly across product, engineering, and customer-facing work.
  • You are based in the United States or Canada.

What would make you stand out

  • You have taken an Electron application from one desktop operating system to another and owned the release details.
  • You have built a React Native application with a deliberate native Swift boundary.
  • You have improved offline or unreliable-network behavior in a client application.
  • You can show a product detail you made materially better after watching someone use it.

How we work

We are a small, distributed engineering team. You will report to the founder, work closely with the product and infrastructure leads, and have direct access to customer context. We use AI tooling heavily, review consequential changes, and expect engineers to own the result after release.

Success means people can trust the app on the devices they use, mobile work moves forward without avoiding necessary native work, and the Windows desktop experience becomes a supported product rather than a build that merely launches.

Compensation and process

The package will combine cash compensation and meaningful equity. We will align on expectations early in the process.

  1. A conversation with the founder about your client-application work and the role.
  2. A walkthrough of a mobile or desktop feature you owned, including a platform-specific challenge.
  3. A paid, scoped working discussion on a realistic client problem.
  4. A final conversation on the mandate, compensation, and your questions.
