Caterpillar CG170B natural-gas generator sets available through Pantheon — the current generation of the CG170 line that Caterpillar took over with MWM. Three sizes are built: the CG170B-12 at 1,380 kWe, the CG170B-16 at 1,840 kWe and the CG170B-20 at 2,000 or 2,300 kWe, all at 1,500 rpm and up to 45.0% electrical efficiency. Each comes in option letters that set its tuning: P for highest electrical efficiency, R for high response and total efficiency, X for biogas and Z for propane. The line runs on natural gas, biogas or propane, accepts up to 25% hydrogen, and is offered at 500 or 250 mg/Nm³ NOx. The earlier CG170-12, -16 and -20 cover 1,000–2,000 kWe.
