DocSend vs Pantheon: Tracked Documents and Relationship Context
TL;DR
DocSend is a mature Dropbox product for tracked links, data rooms, e-signature and stronger sharing controls on higher tiers. Pantheon is an invite-only alpha for tracked links and lightweight Spaces in the same workspace as deals and Telegram, WhatsApp and iMessage conversations. Choose DocSend for watermarking, NDA gates, verified emails, branded custom subdomains or read notifications. Consider Pantheon when the document and relationship workspace belong together.
Where DocSend is stronger
DocSend is part of Dropbox and has established document sharing and data rooms. Its higher Advanced tier adds verified viewer email, dynamic watermarking and NDA gates. DocSend also offers branded custom subdomains on Standard and above, read and forward notifications, and a Salesforce add-on that can log visits as contact or lead tasks. Those matter when your process depends on formal access controls or Salesforce reporting.
Where Pantheon fits
Pantheon puts tracked document links and Spaces (data rooms) in the same workspace as deals and Telegram, WhatsApp and iMessage conversations. For each link you can set a password, ask viewers to enter an email, choose an expiry date, hide the Download button, or revoke access. Analytics show visits, unique viewers, pages seen, time per page and downloads. Updating a file keeps its link and analytics. This does not automatically match a viewer to a contact: the entered email is not verified.
What you give up with Pantheon
Pantheon’s document features are in invite-only alpha. It does not offer watermarking, an NDA gate, a custom domain, verified viewer emails or open alerts. Turning downloads off removes a button; it does not prevent copying. Its Spaces are lightweight rooms for organized files, not a replacement for DocSend’s advanced data-room permission and diligence features. Compare other DocSend alternatives.

Is Pantheon affiliated with DocSend?
No. Pantheon publishes this independent comparison and is not affiliated with DocSend or Dropbox.
Does Pantheon verify viewer email addresses?
No. Its email gate asks viewers to enter an address, but does not verify ownership. DocSend offers secure viewer email authentication on its higher Advanced tier.
Does Pantheon replace DocSend data rooms?
Only for lightweight file sharing. Pantheon Spaces organize files in nested folders and show per-file activity. DocSend offers more mature controls, including watermarking, NDA gates and advanced data-room permissions on higher tiers.
Can DocSend activity reach Salesforce?
Yes. DocSend documents a Salesforce add-on that creates tasks for visits when the viewer email matches a lead or contact. Pantheon does not currently match document viewers to contacts automatically.
