Docusign and Pantheon: Signatures and Document Tracking
TL;DR
Docusign is built to send agreements to other people for signature, track envelope status and preserve an audit trail. Pantheon does not send documents for others to sign. It adds tracked links, page-level reading analytics and lightweight Spaces around a deal, plus in-app signing of your own PDFs and counter-signing PDFs received in chat. Keep Docusign for contracts that need a signature workflow.
Keep Docusign for agreement workflows
Docusign’s eSignature plans cover sending envelopes, templates and audit trails; higher plans add more workflow options. Its Certificate of Completion documents the signing process. Use Docusign when you need to request someone else’s signature, route an agreement or retain its completion record. Pantheon does not provide that sending workflow.
Add reading context around the agreement
Before and after signing, teams share decks, diligence files and other documents. Docusign’s documented HubSpot integration tracks envelope status on CRM records; it is not page-level reading analytics. Pantheon’s tracked links show visits, pages seen and time per page, while Spaces (data rooms) group files behind a single link. These files live in Pantheon’s workspace with your deals and Telegram, WhatsApp and iMessage conversations. Pantheon does not automatically match a viewer to a contact.
What signing can Pantheon do?
Pantheon lets you sign your own PDF in-app after a consent step; the signer’s IP, browser and timestamp are recorded, and the PDF gets a cryptographic seal saved as a new version. You can also counter-sign a PDF sent to you in chat. That is narrower than Docusign’s multi-party agreement workflow. Keep Docusign for sending contracts to be signed by others. Pantheon’s document features are in invite-only alpha.

Is Pantheon affiliated with Docusign?
No. Pantheon publishes this independent comparison and is not affiliated with Docusign.
Can Pantheon send a contract to someone else to sign?
No. Use Docusign for signature requests and agreement workflows. Pantheon lets you sign your own PDFs and counter-sign a PDF received in chat.
Does Docusign show which deck pages someone read?
Its documented CRM workflow tracks envelope status, not page-level reading. Pantheon tracked links show pages seen and time per page. Neither metric proves careful reading.
Should I use both?
Yes, if you need both workflows: Docusign for sending contracts for signature and Pantheon for tracked sharing around a relationship. Pantheon’s document features are still invite-only alpha.
